(by Beth Hammond) Six weeks prior to Halloween our Big Boy staff displayed superior salesmanship skills as they sold over 9000 Halloween Coupon books. Each Halloween Coupon Book sold for a buck and consisted of 8 Halloween cards good for one free Kid's Meal at Big Boy.
Employee incentive to sell coupons was simple. Meet or beat the $850 in-store sales goal and your First, Second and Third place salespeople would receive $230, $100 and $65 respectively. The one person selling the most coupons company-wide would receive an additional $650 cash. Nice chunk of change eh!
We had four Big Boy's sell over $900 each, with our Woodville Rd. location charging past the $1200 mark-Nice Job! It just so happens that our Grand Prize Saleslady hails from the Woodville Rd. location too. She is Geri Rihacek,

a first shift server who sold an incredible $555 all by herself.
The promotion is always exciting as our top salespeople patiently wait on pins and needles wondering if they will walk away with the additional $650. Geri had some stiff competition from Dawn Mocek, $501 and Leah Ruiz, $246, both from #2 Airport Highway along with Willie Ward, $507 and Sheila Jeffery $240, both from #13 in Tiffin, Ohio.
Congratulations and thanks again to the following stores for meeting or beating the $850 sales goal and to their top salespeople for making it happen.
Unit #11 Woodville Rd. Exec. Mgr. Carolyn Ranville Geri Rihacek (555), Helen Fyffe (109) and Mary Sweeney (98)
Unit #2 Airport Hwy. Exec. Mgr. Joanna Madlinski Dawn Mocek (501), Leah Ruiz (246), Erin Rodriquez

You probably heard about this one on the news. Last fall the citizens of Bowling Green voted "yes" to a smoking ban in most public places in the city. The ban effects those eating establishments that do not have a separate, enclosed smoking room, or those who

generate more than 35% of their income from food. In plain words, both our Big Boys in Bowling Green would become non-smoking. With this in mind, we decided our 24 hour store on E. Wooster would benefit by having an enclosed room.

The plan was pretty simple, we just glassed off the front atrium, installed double doors and viola, thanks to Ron Witt, we had a smoking section. Executive Manager, Lisa Hiler, said it has "definitely been an asset to add the room, our smoking customers are quite happy
