Frisch’s Big Boy, Port Clinton, Ohio

PORT CLINTON, OHIO  – May 15, 2013 – Located on the shores of Lake Erie, in the resort town of Port Clinton, sits a newly renovated Frisch’s Big Boy, ready to celebrate a grand re-opening, Wednesday, May 15, 2013 with 99¢ Big Boy Sandwiches, samples of real fruit smoothies, appearances by Big Boy, and a live radio remote broadcast by WCPZ 102.7FM from 4 to 6pm.

With its new contemporary design, it’s clear the guest’s view of this restaurant has undergone a major renovation. “With new tables, chairs, upholstery, carpeting, lighting, subway tile, wall paper, artwork, restroom tile and more.  We have built a new restaurant inside,” commented Executive Manager, Mark Dwyre.

Project Manager, Scott Aldrich has been renovating Bennett restaurants and hotels for the past 11-years. Aldrich shared, “The renovation started in January of this year and with the exception of the new outdoor road sign, scheduled for installation mid to late June, and a few tweaks to the exterior of the property, the renovation is nearly complete.”

Chuck Baacke, Area Supervisor for the past 27-years, has a top-notch management team in place to include Executive Manager, Mark Dwyre, Assistant Managers, Ronda Dunsmore and Jim Scherf and Associate Manager Chris Alt.  “If not for the talented team of veteran front and back-of-the-house employees, whose combined years of Big Boy service surpass 104, we could not have pulled off a project of this length and magnitude.  They have been troopers throughout, handling daily adjustments with smiles on their faces,” commented Mr. Baacke. 

A Frisch’s Big Boy Restaurant has been standing on this parcel of land for the past 35-years & considered a landmark in Port Clinton.  In 1955, Toledo brothers Milton & David Bennett purchased the franchise rights to build and operate Frisch’s Big Boy restaurants in Northwest Ohio.  Currently Bennett Enterprises owns and operates 13 family-style restaurants with drive-thru service under the name Frisch’s Big Boy in 7 counties of Northwest, Ohio. The new additions and refreshing changes illustrate the company’s confidence that Northwest Ohio is alive and a booming, thriving community to work and to live.
